The Work

The Instructional Design Center based in Henzlik Hall is a great resource for helping students, faculty and staff present ideas visually with large posters, videos and other graphics-based tools. The problem was that their name didn’t describe their work. A full renovation and assessment of their physical space signaled the perfect time to rethink how their name and visual assets defined their role on campus. With help from University Communications, the Pixel Lab was born. The name Pixel Lab represents the center’s digital services including large-format printing, graphic design and videography. The space functions as a lab, offering students, faculty and staff areas to foster collaboration, find technology assistance and take advantage of creative support services. University Communications worked with the Pixel Lab team to develop the naming strategy, a promotional video, signage and grand opening event materials.
